 Why do we need to learn grade 12 University level English?

For most students, they don't want to study 12 University level English, and even become the fourth most boring subject in high school because too many people hate it. In students' eyes, it seems that all that is done in English class is to write papers on topics that students don't care much about or to analyze some things.

All high school students are required to earn 4 English credits in accordance with the Ontario High School Graduation Requirements. Year 12 University Level English is a compulsory credit required for application to each University program. Students should learn how to write and read as it helps us a lot in life, by grade 12 students already know how to read and write and the main focus of the course is on the analysis and interpretation of texts. Although for many courses at the university, it seems we don't need English at all. For example, I want to go into computer science, but English doesn't seem to help me much, I can't expect to learn C++ better by analyzing Marxism.

In university, being able to analyze, read and write a paper is a necessary ability no matter what major you study. In Year 12 English we develop our language skills by learning how to express our thoughts and opinions effectively.

Why should Year 12 English be compulsory for entry to all university courses? Learning English is all about learning to communicate, learning to write essays, and how to
succeed in your course or job after university. I think Grade 12 English should be a compulsory course in university because through English, we learn a lot of useful knowledge.
